Success Stories

We are very proud of all of our pupils. There is a clear learning ethos throughout the school and pupils work as hard as they can to achieve their full potential. Often there are shining examples of progress and achievement of pupils who attend Crosby High School and we want to share a few with you.

Career Success Story

This past pupil came to Crosby High School as a young boy who had self esteem and confidence issues. Within a few months he began to blossom and was elected to the school council. His success in his first year did wonders for his confidence levels and he held his school council position for his five years at Crosby High. He was chosen as part of the prefect team and excelled in the role. He was well liked by both peers and staff and was so inspired by his experience in school he decided to pursue a career in childcare and education. After leaving school he attended Hugh Baird College for three years where he studied childcare. He returned to Crosby High on a childcare placement and was so successful he was offered a job as a teaching assistant. He has held this post since September 2011.

Annual Awards Evening

We enjoyed a fantastic night on Tuesday 18th October as it was our annual awards ceremony where we invite all our Year 11 leavers back to receive their formal certificates for all the qualifications they achieved. It was  good to see them all looking so grown up and acting so confidently. The awards were supposed to be given by our famous celebrity, Danny Miller who plays  Aaron Dingle in Emmerdale. Unfortunately as Danny’s new story line is quite big he was unable to leave Leeds in time to get to us as he was still filming. He did send us a message via email which was very good of him you can download it here. We were very lucky to get another celebrity at the last minute; an ex Liverpool footballer, Alan Kennedy. Alan was very well received, but maybe more by the football mad dad’s than the pupils!!

Many other children in Years 8 to 11 received awards for 100% attendance, good citizenship, academic performance and all round achievement so well done to all our winners. The signing choir entertained us and it was fantastic to see some new Y7 pupils already engaging in this group having learned the signs in only 6 half hour lunch time club sessions!
