Blog June 2018

Dear parents, carers and friends of Crosby High,

What a fantastic June we have had; with the good weather there has been lots of learning out of doors and many visits which enhance the curriculum and ensure children’s learning is active, enjoyable and meaningful. 8MH have been working hard in our school garden and we have potatoes, carrots, beetroot, onions and tomatoes doing well.

Thank you for your support with our summer uniform initiative. Most pupils have chosen to wear it and they do seem cooler; I have certainly heard no moaning about ties in this hot weather!! They will be back on as usual in September though.

It is always a time of mixed emotions in June as we prepare to say goodbye to our Year 11. Having worked so closely with the pupils and their families for 5 years we do have a strong bond and will really miss them however we mustn’t lose sight of the point of our work which is to support and educate our pupils whilst they are with us and prepare them for their next stage of education and life. We have a fortnight of lovely events before they leave with a 3 day residential in the Lake District, the leavers “Prom” and whole school disco and the leavers barbeque for them and their family again with the whole school. Thank you to all of Y11 and their families for all your support over the years and we wish your children good luck as they start their college courses next year. We are always keen to hear how they are doing and for them to visit us when they can.

Finally I want to encourage you all to complete the end of year questionnaire you will all be receiving this week. It is really important to us as a school that we understand your views and that we know what we are doing well and in what areas you feel we need to do better. The more voices we have in terms of a response, the more accurate the views so please complete it if you can.

To make it a little easier you can click here to complete it.

Thank you

Oxton-Grant over and out.
