CHS Pledge
At Crosby High we recognise the importance of wellbeing and the connection between mental health, psychological, cognitive development and general health of an individual. The focus of the school is to promote and develop good practice which will support the needs of our community.
Definition of Wellbeing
"A state of wellbeing in which the individual realises his or her own abilities, can cope with the normal stresses of life, can work productively and fruitfully and is able to make a contribution to his or her community." (World Health Organisation)

How do we support at Crosby High?
- We have a culture at CHS where we value all people and develop a sense of belonging with open talking.
- The Behaviour and Anti bullying policies are clear, shared and understood, we promote behaviour for learning.
- We support our students socially and emotionally through an effective pastoral system; this includes a support team which advocates prevention and solutions to issues and concerns.
- We have a considered broad and balanced curriculum to address wellbeing and life skills.
- Crosby High works effectively alongside other professionals to support children and families.
- Extracurricular opportunities to promote health and wellbeing are taken. We embrace outdoor learning.
- We look for opportunities to strengthen relationships with our families to best help and support where we can.
- We embrace learning opportunities for staff professional development in this important area and improve practice when and where necessary.
Activities
Students are given many varied opportunities via Personal development lessons as well as offsite visits and residentials to fulfil the whole school pledge "Eight to feel great". The school offers gardening opportunities. The school allotment provides active outdoor education. Relaxation sessions are provided with our link to OPERA who up skill students in hand massage and meditation. The school take part intergenerational programmes so students can use the new found skills with elderly residents from the local community.
