Crosby High School

Outdoor Education

KS4 Option Choice

Outdoor education is an opportunity to get out of the classroom and learn outside. Over the duration of the course pupils will study towards their Open Awards. One aspect of outdoor education is working with animals. Children will be able to gain experience working on a small farm, helping to look after animals such as sheep and donkeys. At school, children will also be responsible for looking after the smaller animals we have here; rabbits and chickens. We will also be studying gardening and growing produce on our own allotment plot. Outdoor education contains elements of Forest School and children will learn to develop skills such as fire lighting and den building.
